Purpose

OzSpy Security Solutions is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, visitors, and clients. Our goal is to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and incidents through practical safety management, clear communication, and compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) and associated Regulations.

Scope

This policy applies to all OzSpy staff, franchisees, contractors, and visitors across all worksites — including offices, warehouses, retail stores, and client premises. It covers all work activities and applies equally to head office and franchise operations.

Responsibilities

Management

  • Provide a safe workplace and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Ensure safe systems of work, appropriate training, and adequate supervision.
  • Allocate resources to manage risks and maintain compliance with WHS laws and codes of practice.
  • Review WHS procedures regularly and implement improvements as required.

Employees, Franchisees, and Contractors

  • Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
  • Follow all WHS instructions, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Immediately report hazards, near misses, and incidents to their supervisor or site manager.
  • Use equipment and protective gear correctly and responsibly.

Risk Management

  • Identify and assess hazards, including physical, chemical, ergonomic, and psychosocial risks.
  • Implement practical control measures to eliminate or minimise risks where reasonably practicable.
  • Regularly review risk controls to ensure they remain effective.

Incident Reporting and Investigation

  • All incidents, injuries, or near misses must be reported immediately to a supervisor or manager.
  • Each report will be reviewed to identify causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Serious incidents will be reported to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland as required by law.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Emergency procedures, including evacuation and first aid, are maintained at each workplace.
  • Staff and franchisees are briefed on emergency plans and exit procedures.
  • Regular drills may be conducted to ensure readiness.

Consultation and Communication

  • OzSpy encourages open communication about safety issues.
  • Employees and contractors will be consulted on changes that may affect health and safety.
  • Feedback and suggestions for improving workplace safety are welcomed and valued.

Compliance and Review

  • OzSpy will comply with all relevant WHS legislation, regulations, and applicable codes of practice.
  • This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance with current law and best practice.
